To enhance the quality of life in the greater Trenton, NJ area by providing impactful educational and recreational programs while supporting initiatives that address community needs such as education and addiction.
With the inception of the Trenton Thunder in 1994 came a commitment from the organization to be a part of the community in which it was established.
The Thunder have lived up to this commitment with the Grand Slam We Care Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity, which at the conclusion of the 2023 season, had donated over $9.5 Million worth of goods, services, and monetary donations, through a variety of community programs.


Super 50/50 Raffle

The Super 50/50 allows non-profit organizations to sell raffle tickets at Thunder games for $5 as well as raise awareness for their cause! Half of the money raised goes to the non-profit organization while the remaining half goes to one lucky fan. >>Winning Numbers

Dog of the Day Program

The Thunder have partnered with NorthStar VETS to raise awareness for homeless dogs through our “Dog of the Day” program. Every home game, we showcase an adoptable dog on the field at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.

S.L.A.M. Week
The Trenton Thunder and the Grand Slam We Care Foundation recognize organizations and individuals who have had a major impact on the Trenton community. S.L.A.M. week, which stands for “Supporting Local Admirable Missions”, honors selected organizations and individuals prior to the game.

NJM Safe at Home Program

Through the Safe at Home Program, NJM Insurance Group makes an annual donation to a local non-profit based on the total number of runs the Thunder scores at all home games throughout the season.

Each season, your Thunder team up with corporations to provide tickets to deserving non-profits as part of the Tickets for Kids Program. Through the generous efforts of these corporations and individual donors, over 68,000 children have enjoyed the Thunder Baseball Experience since 1996 who might not have ordinarily been able to do so.

The Thunder are proud to support organizations that enhance the educational opportunities and quality of life for children as well as programs that support the betterment of the local community in general.

The Trenton Thunder’s beloved mascot, Boomer, is throwing his hat (or rather, his oversized baseball cap) into the ring for President of the United States, with a focus on education. Boomer is running on a platform of education! The Trenton Thunder are collecting school supplies all season long which will be donated to Trenton-area students ahead of their September start date.
